This recipe uses whole eggs, egg yolk, milk, butter, and vanilla to create a velvety texture. I know it can be pricey, but I infuse whole vanilla beans into the milk. One teaspoon of pure vanilla extract or vanilla bean paste is a good substitute. A little bit of rum adds depth and complements the vanilla flavor.
