Half a cup of brown sugar

°1 onion (chopped)

°1 pound of smoked ham

°1 pound of northern beans

°Salt and pepper to taste

*Directions

Pour beans to bottom of slow cooker.

Adding onions, ham plantains & brown sugar on top.

Covering beans with about 2 inches water.

Cook on high heat for two hours.

Reduce heat to low & let it cooking for an additional 4-5 hours.

Removing pork shank from slow cooker. Mince meat and return pork to slow cooker along with beans. Stir and serving with salt and pepper to taste.
