- 1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a casserole dish.
- 2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the beef, Worcestershire sauce, salt, egg, pepper, and salt. Mix well until all the ingredients are evenly incorporated.
- 3. Shape the beef mixture into individual hamburger steaks (around 4), approximately 1/2 to 3/4 inch thick. Place the hamburger steaks in the greased casserole dish.
- 4. In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the sliced onions and cook until they become translucent and slightly caramelized, about 5 minutes. Remove the onions from the skillet and set them aside.
- 5. In the same skillet, add the sliced mushrooms and cook until they are tender and lightly browned, about 5 minutes. Remove the mushrooms from the skillet and set them aside.
- 6. Spread the caramelized onions evenly over the hamburger steaks in the casserole dish. Next, layer the cooked mushrooms on top of the onions.
