INSTRUCTIONS:
1st Step
In a small basin, combine the yeast and tepid water. Allow it to rest for approximately 5 minutes, or until it becomes foamy. This indicates the yeast is alive and well.
2nd Step
Warm the whole milk in a small saucepan over low heat until it registers approximately 110°F (45°C). Be wary of overheating.
3rd Step
Combine the activated yeast mixture, tepid milk, sugar, and 3 cups of flour in a large mixing basin. Blend until a batter is formed.
4th Step
Mix in the egg, salt, and butter that has been softened in the microwave. Continue to incorporate until thoroughly blended.
