- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 6 large eggs
- 4 cups whole milk
- 3/4 cup plus 1 tablespoon sugar, divided
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- orange custard sauce:
- 3 large egg yolks
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1 orange zest strip (1/4 inch)
- 1/2 teaspoon orange extract
