Regular oven maintenance is a must for any self-respecting kitchen. This not only extends the life of your appliance, but also ensures healthy and efficient cooking. So, how do you tackle stubborn grease and burnt-on residue without resorting to harsh chemicals? Fortunately, there are simple and eco-friendly solutions.
Baking soda and vinegar
The baking soda and vinegar duo is a classic when it comes to eco-friendly cleaning.
How to proceed?
Mix half a cup of baking soda with a few tablespoons of water to make a thick paste. The consistency must be thick enough to stick to the oven walls .
Spread the dough on the internal surfaces of the oven, avoiding any heating elements.
Leave on for at least an hour, or even overnight for more stubborn dirt.
After the pause time, clean the paste with a damp cloth.
Then, spray a solution of water and white vinegar (equal parts) on the remaining residue. The vinegar will react with the remaining baking soda, making the final cleanup easier.
