If you want to  defrost a freezer with a lot of ice  , warm water is the best alternative. This is the best known method and the one that speeds up the process the most. You will need to place a  pot full of hot water inside the freezer and  then close the door.

This way, the ice inside the freezer  will melt much faster.  Be careful and try to collect all the water released by the melted ice. While this is a simple method, the hot water tray can damage the surface of the freezer, so to avoid this,  place a cloth underneath.

Hair dryer

Do you want to speed up the defrosting of the freezer as much as possible? You can do it  with a hair dryer  . It’s a simple trick, but you should take the following precautions when  applying hot air inside your freezer  :

  • Move the hair dryer away from the walls and coils of the freezer. The high heat given off by the hair dryer could cause damage to the device.
  • Do not touch the ice with the hair dryer and avoid direct contact with water. You should also keep the hair dryer cord away from water.
