1. Prepare the Cream Cheese Filling:
In a bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
2. Assemble the Sandwiches:
Spread a generous layer of cream cheese mixture on one side of four slices of bread.
Top with sliced strawberries and a small spoonful of strawberry jam.
Place the other slices of bread on top to form sandwiches. Press gently to seal.
3. Prepare the Batter:
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, milk, egg, vanilla extract, granulated sugar, and salt until smooth.
4. Heat the Oil:
Heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil in a deep skillet or pot to 350°F (175°C).
