Step 2: Shape the Truffles
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Using a small cookie scoop or spoon, scoop out portions of the truffle mixture and roll them into 1-inch balls.
- Place them on the prepared baking sheet and freeze for about 30 minutes.
Step 3: Coat the Truffles
- Melt the chocolate with vegetable or coconut oil in a double boiler or microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring in between.
- Using a fork or dipping tool, dip each truffle into the melted chocolate, ensuring it’s fully coated.
- Let excess chocolate drip off before placing the truffle back on the parchment-lined sheet.
- If desired, dust with cocoa powder while the chocolate is still wet.
Step 4: Set and Serve
- Let the truffles set at room temperature or refrigerate for about 15 minutes until the chocolate hardens.
- Serve chilled or at room temperature and enjoy!
Recipe Variations
- White Chocolate Tiramisu Truffles: Use white chocolate for the coating instead of dark chocolate.
- Boozy Tiramisu Truffles: Increase the coffee liqueur to 2 tablespoons for a stronger kick.
- Crunchy Tiramisu Truffles: Add crushed biscotti or toasted almonds to the truffle mixture for extra texture.
