- Sprinkle with sugar, salt, black pepper, and thyme.
- Cook for about 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until golden brown.
- Add beef broth and cook for another 2 minutes. Set aside to cool.

Prepare the Meatloaf Mixture:
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, milk, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.

- Mix until just combined (don’t overmix).
